Step On Asia | Walks In Istanbul
Sultanahmet, impressive as it is, is an open air museum.
You need to leave it and see the real way that we Istanbullus live.
Kadikoy is where I grew up; it is a very residential neighborhood. Food Mecca of me and it is very personal. It has everything you love in a local neighborhood and it’s the home for Fenerbahce ( the best football team in Turkey)

We’ll get on a public boat which takes about 20 minutes to get to Kadikoy and then walk around this bustling market brimming with fresh fish, fruits, and vegetables, stellar pastry shops, simple restaurants and few tourists.
We’ll walk on the “Bagdat Avenue” The Turkish Champs-Élysées to see modern and residential Istanbul.

Our walk will end in Moda, the historical sea-side town of the Asian side where I learned swimming, to enjoy a glass of tea in a “tea-garden” or a meal at the famous Ciya or Koco which houses a Greek Orthodox church in it.
