Questions Walks In Istanbul

Everything You Want To Learn About Istanbul
What walks does Walks In Istanbul offer?

Walks in Istanbul offers walks in all areas of Istanbul with any theme: Sultanahmet, Golden Horn, Asian Side, Beyoglu, Nişantaşı, Princess Islands, Fatih, Beyazıt, Bosporus… you name it, we have it.

We pride ourselves with our knowledge of very controversial subjects. No one else covers a tour for the Armenian Heritage or a night tour to discover a traditional order in Islam.

Do we use any other transport with Walks In Istanbul?

We offer walking tours. Istanbul is a walking city but if we need to, we use the tram and of course the ferries back and forth.
Please be prepared to walk an average of 10,000 to 35,000 steps a day depending on your itinerary.
We give frequent stops, at least once before lunch and once after lunch.
Lunch is generally an hour.

How long are your tours?

Full day tours from 09:30 am until 4:30 pm
Half day in the morning 09:00 am until 12:30 pm
Half day in the afternoon 1:30 pm until 5:00 pm
We give frequent stops, at least once before lunch and once after lunch.
Lunch is generally an hour.

Where do we meet you?

We meet you personally at your hotel or apartment for private tours.
Small group shared tours start at a mutual/easy meeting point, which we advise when you book.

We are of the older generation and not built for speed, can we still join?

Absolutely. We are very experienced with senior travelers and enjoy your seasoned point of view for what we are offering.

What happens to our children?

We love children and pets. On private tours, they are welcome on any condition.
Please inquire us for small group shared tours.
They are absolutely free until the age of 12. Please carry their IDs for free admission tickets.

What’s the difference between private and shared tours?

You have full freedom in our private tours. We tailor each private tour individually. You tell us, we do it. You can even change your mind in the day as we go.

A shared tour will be a maximum of 8 people, smallest in the industry. We give the offer, you buy the package. You won’t have a lot of flexibility.

How big are your shared tours?

Maximum 8 and generally minimum of 2 people.

How do we book and pay?

When you decide to book, please choose a date from the calendar of the relevant tour either private or shared.

Please choose how many people you want to book. On private tours, our system will directly charge a non-refundable 20% deposit via your credit card.

On shared tours, the booking system will send your request to us via email. Once we receive the email, we will approve it and you will receive our confirmation via email again. The reason we have to do this is that we need minimums to run shared tours. Again, we’ll charge a 20% non-refundable deposit.

For the balance, you will receive another e-mail with a unique payment link to approve.

What happens if we need to cancel?

We do our best to accommodate your request. Please read our terms here.

Money, tipping, visas, security…?

When you decide to book, we will provide a full list of details that will cover most of these travel related questions.
You can always contact us for details afterwards; we are ready to reply any questions.
