2 Day Guided Cappadocia Tour from Istanbul with Optional Balloon Flight
Embark on a two-day journey through the captivating landscapes and cultural treasures of Cappadocia. Starting from Istanbul with a short domestic flight, your guide will accompany you throughout this immersive experience — or you may join directly in Cappadocia if you’re already there.
Your adventure begins with Devrent Valley, also known as Imagination Valley, where whimsical rock formations resemble animals and figures carved by nature. Continue to the Zelve Open Air Museum, an abandoned cave town featuring ancient churches and dwellings carved into volcanic rock. After a scenic traditional lunch in Avanos, known for its pottery traditions along the Kızılırmak River, you’ll explore the vibrant hues of Red Valley before descending into Kaymakli Underground City — a remarkable multi-level complex used by early Christians for refuge. The day ends at Pasabag (Monks Valley), home to some of the region’s most iconic fairy chimneys. You’ll then check in to your cave hotel for an overnight stay.
On the morning of Day 2, you may opt to join one of the world’s most spectacular hot air balloon flights — soaring at sunrise above Cappadocia’s surreal landscape.
Following breakfast, your second day begins at the UNESCO-listed Göreme Open Air Museum, renowned for its rock-hewn churches and Byzantine frescoes. Next, take in panoramic views from atop Uçhisar Castle — the highest point in Cappadocia. Stroll through the charming village of Mustafapaşa, rich in Ottoman and Greek heritage, before enjoying a traditional lunch in the historic town of Ürgüp. Your journey concludes with a return transfer to the airport and flight back to Istanbul, where you’re dropped off at your hotel.
